Ambrosia - The Divine nectar

Even though there was experiences of secretion in the upper regions of the mouth during deep meditations, it was only after many years of practice I experienced what is meant to be the real ambrosia......

How is Ambrosia like ?

Even though nectar is refered to as a liquid, in my experience it is a comination of sweet taste and and cold energy in the mouth, especially in the tongue. It feels like a small cool pearl in the toungue. The tongue gets cold and mouth gets filled with sweet saliva and sweet cold energy.

When does it occur ?

Initially the experience of ambrosia occurs only during the state of no mind in deep meditation. In this state the only experience is just the cool energy and conscious awareness. In other words we can say it happens when the male and female aspects or Shiva and Shakthi merges into union in a Yogi. In other words as when one enters into Samadhi.

Is Nectar or Ambrosia only felt in meditation ?

It may be initially felt only in meditation. But later it can be felt at all times with continuous practise. There is no need to purposefully or forcefully try for it. If ones frees the mind, it will pour freely and purely.

Is yogic practices like a Khechari Mudra necessary for experiencing the Ambrosia?

From my experience khechari mudra or any other practices is not a necessary condition to experience ambrosia or drink the nectar. It may have another purposes or practices which I am unaware of. It will happen when the Yogi has consistently over a period of time meditated in a state of no mind. In this state the cool energy, which I consider as the real ambrosia rather than the secretion is felt in the mouth.

What happens with this drinking of Ambrosia?

From my opinion, like all other Siddhis it is not required to concentrate or think about ambrosia as a big deal. The main function which it does from my experience is that, this enables a Yogi to sit in deeper stages of samadhi or meditation for longer periods periods of time. It is a Samadhi booster!!!.The quality of samadhi is much higher after this experience of drinking of the divine Nectar. I am also unaware of any long physical benefits or powers from this.
